A Week Of Action

Week 3 Of My Marketing Project With SBSA

Recap -

If you are unfamiliar with my current project series on my blog, I am currently working with a large engineering company (SBSA) to tailor a marketing campaign aimed at recruiting young people to work for their company.

Update -

This week I worked with three SBSA employees to create EVP’s (employee value propositions) for their engineering departments. I also learned to use Facebook creative hub and created some mockup ads for our campaign.

What did I accomplish this week?

  • Interviewed three SBSA engineers to gather EVP content

  • Gathered video clips from each interview to be used in our social media marketing campaign.

  • Created mock up ads for the Facebook campaign.

  • Learned how to use MailChimp to send out emails to promote the company.

  • Learned how to create EVP’s

What challenges did I encounter?

  • Issues scheduling interviews around the holiday season.

  • I had a hard time figuring out how to use an ad campaign in the most efficient possible way.

  • Random technical difficulties in recording clips for the EVP’s.

Take-aways -

This week went much smoother than the last. I got a lot accomplished as far as completing the EVP’s and preparing to launch our ad campaign. Although working with a business has presented a fair amount of challenges, I’m happy that I chose to go this route because I feel like I’m gaining more useful experience for my future career. As I move into week 4 and I prepare to launch the ad campaign, I’m excited to continue learning.
